You didn't say anything about the Wheaties. Maybe that's an American joke.

Thanks Troy, two days hand polishing the carb...yes,I had time #-o :D

Car have a 14.5" eletric fan ...I'm concerned with the air flowing above carb...should a good air filter improve it metering and ET on 1/8 mile??
Should improve, yes.
Yeah, I know what "wheat" mean but didn't know about "Wheaties"...so I'm little off about the joke :D
I'm glad if you can explain it!
"Wheaties" was / is a brand of breakfast cereal. The TV commercials claimed it was the breakfast of athletic "Champions". So, it sort of became a joke about having energy and so forth.

a free test for weak ignition is a tighter plug gap.
was .035?
try .025

I'll try that.

Wondering if the engine performance would suffer with less plug gap?

Thanks for reply

fixed yet?
Tight Plug gap is a test for weak ignition.
it is not the cure; it just proves weak ignition, or NOT.

Not fixed yet Matt...

I had two weekends to work on the car and do the tests but both weekends was raining really bad #-o

I believe next weekend I can do the tests.

Reading the plugs, the center electrode seem to be "burned" correctly by the ignition energy. Engine start and runs very well but the high rpm miss.

I'm wondering if the new stock style dist. rotor and cap might be overtaxed..

Thanks for reply.
