there was also the Bulge on the outside
and increased chamber wall thickness

the 1st #034 Bowtie i saw was at Brodix
GM sent him that sectioned piece or a casting to look at

i asked JV what was a cast-iron head doing at Brodix ?? :)

you can see there's no water jacket bulge-out

I just looked over my heads pretty good again. They do have the bulge on them. Also, there is 8/11/92 cast on to them in the spring area. These heads have a few years on them! hahaha

Larry, the flow numbers you posted... was that for the heads I have now or was that what you have been able to do with that head?

yes, that's about the maximum Flow Numbers you could expect
out of those Heads if you maxed them out,

but those heads are 15-17 years of dragracing on them
nowdays, you could buy a much better pair of alum heads
and make more HP for what it would take to get
320's CFM out those Heads

on your Heads , i'm 100% positive i never ported Scott a maxed out
pair...so your Heads are around 265 cfm to 290 cfm max
..maybe even less as someone might have had a valve job
done over those 15-17 years

Thank you very much for taking the time to look for the flow sheets.

Not a bad idea to go ahead and update to a new set of aluminum heads. Loose weight AND make more power... nothing wrong with that!

Larry,

I got the heads pulled apart. Looks like they hve been fully ported some time in their life. The roof of the runners have been smoothed out flat even aroud the valve guide. No blending around the valve at all. Does this sound like something you would have done years ago?

I can post pictures if you need to see what I'm talking about.

After I reread my post, I think I might need to make it a little clearer. The roof of all the runners have been smoothed to the point that the valve guide does not extend down into the runners. The only obstruction in the runner is the valve stem.

Heads are at the machine shop to change out some valve guides and get a valve job. I work till 6 every day and they close at 5... I'll see if I can get a buddy of mine to get over there and snap a few pictures.

Note : one of the Brodix Factory pics is in the year 1990

some of the other Brodix Pics are earlier

i've been to Brodix 3 different times
almost stopped by Brodix again in 2015 .. back from Des Moines, Iowa at SuperFlow
... but they had a bunch of worker's vehicles everywhere ...couldn't find a parking spot :(
they must be super busy :)
