The reason I bought the Felpro one piece oil pan gasket for my Dart SHP block is that the ones for the L-98 block work so well. I guess that theory is out the window. Anyways this thread is timely as the oil pan will be going on shortly for my new build.

I use a 4 piece and spot glue the cork and corners an the rest of the end seals with 3M.
Then cover it all with white lube. That way when ya got to do a pan in a hurry or don't have a gasket you are good to go back on.Even if ya just don't want to replace the gasket.
You can R&R the pan at least 4-6 times. Just don't over tighten.
