Alloy blocks

We are considering using an alloy small block for our marine race engine.
Our choices seem to be a GM alloy bow tie block or a Donovan alloy block

We require good strength but would like to save some weight in our boat
Are the GM blocks the best choice. My thinking is that they have been around for many years and with the backing of GM research and developement seem to have the runs on the board

Any comments?

Check out Brodix small blocks they have three different bellhousings lots of lightening options .I have personally had fantastic results with their blocks.

The Brodix blocks are pretty nice.
