The 'heavier than aluminum, weaker than steel' was some other cynic's observation. The rest just rolled off my fingetips onto this post...

Talk to Andy (PPPC - 800-421-9150). He has some good alternatives that are stronger than titanium, 9310 or tool steel and at a reasonable weight.
Second that. Andy helped me out with a set of pins a while back. Though mine are tapered wall tool steel w/coating, they're extremely high quality...pppc makes good stuff and are very helpful
