Crank Clearance
Have just recieved my new custom billet crank
Bolted it in and checked all my cleanaces
The crank counterweights come to within about 30 thou of the block as they rotate.
Do you guys think its a bit close
I really dont wanna start having to give it more clearance as its just such a big job

Anything we build we shoot for minimum .050 and you may want to set your oil pan on and make you have no clearance issues with that.

My personal minimums are .030 on the counterweights & .060 on the rods & I have never had an issue.

Hi
Its an Aussie V8, a Holden 308
Its a 383 stroker (3.75 crank)
I had the engine going with a cast Come crank and Cast rods and KB pistons,
I have turned the car into a drag only car so rebuilt the engine using custon CP Pistons, Lunati Pro Billet 5.7 rods
I dummy assembled the short using the Come cast crank and i clearanced everything, and yes ground out the block for the rod clearance and hit water so filled with epirez two pack resin
Anyways, I had a company over here called Crank Shaft rebuilders build me up a custom billet crank
The crank arrived and everything is sweet except the counterweights are bigger and the block doesnt have enuff clearance
I got out today and got the air grinder and die grinder and solved the problem

AUSSIE STROKER 308
WHAT DID YOU GRIND ??? I USE GROUT IN MY BLOCKS. AS I HAVE NOT HEARD OF EPIREZ TWO PACK . CAN YOU SEND SOME DETAILS
haha
Just hooked in with the 10 grinder and ground 5 mm of the counterweights
Thats a Joke lol
Inside the holden you can see the original machine marks for the counterweights, so with my trusty little die grinder and baby 4 inch i took the original machine marks another 30 thou. Turned out dam nice if i do say so myslef.
For those of you that havent used EPIREZ before, get on board the train.
Epirez is to block filling what Cometics is to head gaskets.
Best god dam stuff around.
Oh and also, i dont sell it either, so im not making money of the advertisings
