Re: Wtd ls1engine infr
EFI drives the cost of the build up but, allows for greater tuning parameters on both fuel and timing. The other thing to look out for is valvetrain parts if you really want to spin it that high of an RPM.

Re: 340 Chrysler Street Header Questions
I remember my old 340 Duster had either Cyclone or Headman headers on it and all the divers side tubes slip fit into the collector to allow installation.....exhaust leak city but, I was in high school and thought it was cool. Looks like a talented guy doing the header fabrication....NICE WORK!

On a Boss 302 on a street limited strip use type motor it's a blessing!!!
That Offy manifold isn't a great piece but, brings up much conversation.

What are valve/reatiner weights......are you planning on using the India sourced junk AFR installs in their heads? I use Isky Gold Stripe springs myself.

Buy a 2006 or later....go with a 6.0 iron block if you can find one....about all of them have the equivalent of the 2002 Z06 head a decent part. The connecting rods in the 2006 and later motors are much better than earlier stuff. I wouldn't plan on extended 7000RPM operation, one of the reasons your...

This is a true story......my buddy who builds USAC Midget motors was building a Cosworth years ago......he had blow-by on a fresh rebuild was trying everything to cure it......the owner of the motor had supplied a set of Total Seal gapless rings....they weren't seating. It was a long 3 day holiday w...

Re: Cam for 302 SBC with AFR 195's
Either AFR 180cc heads or Edelbrock Etec 170 runner heads for a little 302. I have the Z/28 302 from my old autocross Camaro sitting in the corner of my garage, it had 11.5:1 TRW slugs and a Crower 00350 cam in it (specs here: http://www.crower.com/camshafts/chevy-262-400-compu-pro-solid-small-base-...

Re: engine rough idle and surging up high after drags
Surging in an A series Mopar motor?....now your bringing me back memories of my wasted youth at Fremont Drag strip with my 340 Duster......that motor loved to eat valve springs and rocker arms until I put some 273 cast iron adjustable rockers on it. High speed surging could also be weak intake sprin...

Re: Fitting OEM LS7 intake valves to aftermarket heads
The purpose of swapping out the heads was not for the sake of performance, but rather reliability since the GM heads have earned a bad reputation for snapping valves. Just how do the GM heads snap valves? How do LS7s "snap valves"? Well, you farm out the machine work of the cylinder heads...

Re: Weiand MOPAR vertical cross 3x2 intake.
As some have said, that intake was made for NHRA Super Stock motors, it was better than a factory intake but, distribution bugs need to be worked out of it from its production castings. I ran one of those back in the 70's, they were a pricey piece back then and I don't think many were sold.

Competition Products sold a lot of Canfield heads over the years as did Holley in their "System Max" line of top end bolt-on kits. Good Luck with the search.
