Re: Engine guys, 308 modified or 368 semi modified rule. HEL

Some fun rules... 308 Chi Cleveland heads..... They have nice single plane manifolds for them.... But...... ... 8 stack it or t ram it with flying toilets, on methanol. :D While they are quite rare...I believe CHI made cast iron versions of their Cleveland heads. I don't know if they are any better...

Re: reducing under hood temps...

open the inner fender panels so you get a free flow of air in and out of the engine compartment. I would guess the exhaust manifolds make most of the under hood heat Regarding airflow under and through the engine compartment - you certainly have a point. Removing the under engine "belly pan&qu...

reducing under hood temps...

For endurance racing applications, I would imagine under hood temps are a consideration...what lessons can be applied to street applications? For a street car: looking to reduce the under hood operating temps in order to preserve/salvage old plastics and electronics. (15 year old BMW V8) I was wonde...

Ford Coyote with a flat crank?

So, the rumor is that the next Mustang GT350 with have a V8 with a flat crank - 5.2L... http://www.autoblog.com/2014/11/17/ford-mustang-shelby-gt350-official-photos/#continued Given the discussions here in the past about vibration issues - this is a bit of a surprise to me. I would have to believe t...

someone asked about the sound of 8 into 1 - I saved this link from a thread on speed talk a long time ago. I am almost certain it was said to be 8 into 1...would be better without the music, but you can get a pretty good idea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OS_k0V8Bvw&index=92&list=FL03CYF...

Re: evans waterless coolant

I don't know if it is helpful, but a primary reason for using this coolant in a some street applications (bmw's) is that the cooling system is not under pressure. The older cars with a lot plastic cooling system parts have a high failure rate due heat fatigue and pressure. The Evans is a common cure...

Re: engine choice in a sportmod

even being out production for decades - still no Cleveland heads? I find this amazing...and kinda funny. Are they really that much better? If the answer is yes, then why doesn't everyone run them (where they are legal)? Then they would not need to be outlawed...

Re: 302 Boss Head Conundrum.

I can give you a few of the details, but I do not have all the information on hand-I had a brand new 1970 Boss 302 block and heads. I bored the block to 4.005, and used a SCAT 3.400 crank and H beam rods- I did a little clean up on the heads. I also had a trick looking intake manifold, like a bath ...

Re: High-flow heads and small cams

Wasn't the old Cleveland a slug at low RPM? full disclosure - magazine article...however it is interesting/entertaining enough to ponder. those TOO big ports and smallish cam timing yield results that don't appear to be all that different from the SBC. What do they say about skinning cats? just for...

Yes we can run an 8.2 deck.
seems like the potential of the N351 and the packing/weight advantages of the 8.2 block would be a great combination.
