Dirt track vac pump ?

I tried this in another section and no response so lets see what this does.

Looking for suggestions on running a vac pump on a 355 street stock motor. What type of pump should I use. Thinking of a moroso 3 vane but not sure if it would last. Some sugested a Daily pump but boy are they expensive.

I think the one thing everone seems to miss or forget is the fact that were all trying to make a perfect seal or should be when it comes to rings and cylinder walls. Agreed ? A ring is gapped according to the enviroment it is in. Another words the hotter the cylinder temp is the more gap we give it ...

When I first started in the trade a customer would bring amc motors for us to hone for him. He always made us install the pump because it was suppose to distort the cylinder...

Who said that was the cause of failure. I've put dozen's of these in 632's and never had one break like that or because of cam clearencing. What is this rod out of and what was the application ? I hope your not making assumptions.

I hope who ever ground the cam did it for that (.937) lifter . A larger wheel goes along for the ride alot easier then a smaller one. I would talk to your cam guy an ask what they think or what it was ground for , i hope this was dicussed before anything was ground.
