I have never been able to tell the difference visually as to what a low tension oil ring / std. tension oil ring looks like. I called and talked to another tech at Compcams. He said they had tried nitriding lifters in the past, but were not currently making them. I tried it about 12 years ago, and ran into problems with chipping on the edge of the lifter. That's when I started nitriding the cams instead. just the cam ??
