We used a tight tapered quench area in our racing two strokes. Worked best.

Would the 1968 rule be to also cut out the use of the Cobra Jet heads?
I do not believe this is the first time that the EMC has arranged the rules to try to handicap the Fords. :wink:

It seems to me that Europe is in the process of reducing/eliminating the amount of diesel vehicles on their roads.

Never said the deck was not connected to the block :shock: I said that the head bolts to the too thin deck with too small in dia bolts that go into the water jackets. I know of other engines where larger dia bolts do not go into the water jacket and they anchor into the block, not the deck. And don'...

I aim to do as you described. I have the equipment and time. I was hoping He would pay someone instead of me doing it for free. Oh well, I am OK with the deal, have to pay for my rides I suppose. :) And thank you again.

9.8" deck too short. Lifter valley has no oil drain back Gallery. Oil has to drain through the center of the lifter valley and onto the cam and the rotating assembly. The cam and crank center lines are too close. Lifter dia too small. Push rods too long. Crankcase too narrow. Head bolt holes go...

As to the cam, no decisions, however in my dyno sim pro iterator, I am looking at-----

Hydraulic roller camshaft, solid roller lifters
Intake, 248* at .050", .650" lift
Exhaust, 256* at .050", .650" lift
LS 109*, 4* advance, intake at 105*

I imagine the intake will end up with either a 1" or 2" open spacer under a Jomar Power Cone.
