Re: Buy a Racing helmet
I'm not sure about NHRA or any other drag racing groups, but IMCA requires an SA-2005 or newer rated helmet. The SA is for automotive racing and has a flame retardant lining. If you buy an SA rated helmet, most sanctioning bodies will accept it as well as the tracks.

Re: Methanol Fuel Pump Question
I agree with the ball bypass. That's what we used.
The two years I had a belt drive pump, I used a bypass that required Holley jets to control the idle.

Re: Methanol Fuel Pump Question
This what a friend of mine uses. I had one for several years as well. Neither of us had any problems with them, but, as said above, you will need to use a bypass to allow the excess idle fuel back to the cell. https://www.daymotorsports.com/shop-by/fuel/fuel-pumps/pro-cam-fuel-pump BTW, never any lo...

Re: 3 and 4 link rear suspension questions
The rear suspensions you are looking at have been in use for decades in circle track racing. I will try to share what I have learned over the years about the three link system. Moving the upper bar to one side or the other, loads the closest tire more that the other on acceleration. The opposite hap...

Re: Q-Jet Intakes
An opinion here from the racer's viewpoint- if you want to cut your car count in these classes, you're on the right track. You can't find one intake, yet you expect a whole field of racers to find one? You just drove the price of those intakes in your area through the roof, and made a bunch of guys...

Re: Q-Jet Intakes
NAPCAR is imploding so we won't be following their example. Have a line on a couple of different OEM q-jet intakes.

Re: Q-Jet Intakes
Thanks. I'm working on that as well. The promoter said he would by a Brezenski but I don't see the reason to spend $600 for a display. I will keep looking for an intake to use. I haven't had one in over 15 years. Moved up and grew out of them. Lol

Q-Jet Intakes
I'm in need of some dimensions for a stock EGR Q-jet intake. I need the port measurements at the head face, top, bottom, and height. Also need the plenum depth. I also need the same measurements for a Brezenski cheater series. I am a new tech official at a local dirt track and am trying to rein in a...

Check with Howe Racing or QA-1. The both make rebuild-able ball joints for racing. You can get different stud lengths for each of their ball joints

All it does is change the driveshaft length. Nothing else.

Clip Offset
This is something that has me confused a little. I usually build circle track cars, but right now, I have a '67 Firebird that we are redoing the cage in. I've redesigned the cage and improved it from what was in it. My question is why would the previous "fab" person install the rear clip 3...

Re: Dirt Circle Track Two or Four Barrel?
Need to consider the tires and surface first. Are the tires hard and difficult to hook up? Does the track go dry slick during the features or stay heavy. It matters. If it stays heavy, I would go with a good four barrel. If it regularly dries off, I would use a good 2 barrel. The 200 pounds won't ma...
