I just got off the phone a bit ago with AED. I've got a turbo LS motor about ready to run other the getting the turbo and carb. I plan on running C16 fuel since I'll be in the 20psi range of boost they were talking about they don't like to run a blow thru above 15, I've heard for others like CSU it'...

Carb Recommendation
Looking for advice on a carb recommendation, I've got a new motor together and this is new territory going into alcohol. This is in a bracket door car. The motor is a 385 sbc .040 over 4.140 bore 3.75 stroke 13 to 1 compression Profiler 210 heads the flow 320 Solid roller specs .640 lift 273-285 dur...

Re: Question about cam selection
You need 100 hp more. Do you think you have added 100 hp? Then you have to make full use of the new powerband. When I worked at profiler our heads made really good power on a 383, I don't know where it would be sitting on alcohol and the cam camking spec'd out. I'd hope I'd be there or close enough...

Re: Question about cam selection
It's not a street car by any means, I just cruise once in a while on the street and like to pay 1.85 a gallon vs 7.50 a gallon. With a flappet cam that's only .550 lift, 4,000 stall leaving at 3800 and crappy heads I was going 7.20's and made 520 at the crank. Your really think on alcohol with the n...

You will want to raise the compression ratio to take full advantage of Methanol also.
Combined w 13:1+cr would be very good.
Carb is small now.
Fbird I'm trying to keep the compression down for the street.

Re: SB Chevy profiler
When I worked at Pro-Filer Mike and Ray had really tight QC on that kind of stuff. The would scrap it and send it back out to the middle of the foundry to be re smelted. I mean nobodies perfect and someone can miss something. On the oil groove issue, it doesn't really need it the problem wasn't in t...

Re: Question about cam selection
I could see an 850 being a possibility, but you would think a 950 dominator would be to big?

Question about cam selection
Hey guys I'm in the middle of switching over to a solid roller in my drag car. I wanted a quick opinion on what your thought is on my cam choice or if you have a better idea. I haven't ordered the cam yet. I run bracket and I'm looking to run a 6.50 index. I'm in a G-Body 2,900 pounds with me in it....

SRP piston identificaton
I'm trying to identify what pistons are sitting in my 400 block. They are SRP forged dished pistons 4.155 bore, nothing on the edge of the skirt like the show just SRP 41D on the bottom of the piston.

Re: Get me to 6.50's
I posted the specs about it earlier, 1964 chevelle back halved car with ladder bars 32x14 slicks 9 inch with 4.88's it has a turbo 400 in it with a 4,500 stall. But there isn't a Transbrake on it. 434 small block 12.5 to 1 compression with 64 cc heads full forged rotating assembly, electric water pu...

Re: Get me to 6.50's
F-Bird can I get it done for around 2 grand with my chevelle and 434 shortblock? I've got a big converter in it and can swap the powerglide to the car.

Re: Get me to 6.50's
Don't get me wrong I'd love to do a trick setup and everything, but budget is a consern. I'd say I'm trying to do this on a 2,000 dollar budget so I could have it done in the next few weeks with minimum down time to the car. Now that budget isn't including what I'd get for selling the intake and hea...

Re: Get me to 6.50's
Sorry it took me a couple days to get back with you guys, F-Bird I've always listened and respected your advice it always works point blank. Yes the car has a roll bar it has a 6 point. Soon Dean McCallvain will be putting in a 12 point and anti-roll bar and swap to motor plates. I do have solid mou...
